ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT
Elkin Taveras (Pathobiology ‘10)
Although Elkin is currently experiencing the “dog days” of post-grad as the current Director of Client Services for WorldCare Pet Transport LLC, they haven’t been as gloomy as you might expect. Not only is he working with man’s best-friend, but also horses, reptiles, birds, and fish (all the sounds from Unchained’s “Thank You”). Apart from work, his wonderful wife is currently in her 3rd year of medical school and both love traveling in their free time. Elkin continues to show off his talented pipes at his wife’s church in Manhattan and during his commute to and from work.
Anders Waldo (SLHS ‘20)
Not only does Anders want you to read his Conn-Men alumni bio, but he also wants you to know we didn’t get rid of him after his 2020 graduation. After graduating online during a worldwide pandemic, Anders has begun working towards his Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology. He expects to graduate from UConn (second time’s the charm?) in 2022. Anders has been enjoying his classes and especially clinical responsibilities, working with children with speech and language disorders. He’s kept up with music in his free time by arranging for other groups and listening to Coffee Run nonstop. Anders wants to thank the Conn-Men, alumni and current members, for creating and maintaining a welcoming, supportive group of incredibly talented guys.
Tyler Campbell (Music & MIS ‘14)
Since leaving UConn, Tyler has remained an active musician and music educator. Comfortable in many genres, he plays with bands and pit orchestras across the state of CT and continues to arrange for vocal groups at various schools. Tyler currently teaches drums and percussion at Thames Valley Music School, Newtown High School, The Woodstock Academy, and the University of Connecticut where he writes and directs the battery percussion for the marching band. He is a proud member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
In addition to music, Tyler works at Connecticut College doing computer network administration and cybersecurity, pursuing another passion in the world of IT.
Tyler would like to thank the Conn-Men for the opportunities and great memories the group gave him in college, and to the current members for carrying on such an awesome tradition in excellence.
